1. Hike Arikok National Park

Making up nearly 20% of Aruba, Arikok National Park is a must visit for anyone visiting Aruba. This park has caves, natural pools, desert hills, and excellent hiking trails surrounded by desert flora.

You’ll get to see wildlife, interesting caves, and beautiful cliffs and terrain. You can visit a good amount of the park on a 2×2 vehicle, but you’ll need a 4×4 to get to the natural pools.

If you have a 4×4, read how to get to Conchi Natural pool for directions on how to get there. If you don’t have a 4×4, you can go on an ATV tour to the Conchi natural pool as well.

From getting breathtaking ocean views to swimming in natural pools, this is the perfect activity for adventurous couples.

3. Have a picnic at Mangel Halto Beach

Located on the southeast coast, Mangel Halto Beach is the most serene beach in Aruba. If you’re wanting to avoid crowds, this is the beach for you. It’s secluded and has soft white sand, and calm crystal clear waters.

You can spend the day at the beach to swim, snorkel, or have a picnic. It doesn’t have facilities on site, but you can pick up food and drinks from the Mangel Halto Bar just steps away from the beach. 

Located in Pos Chiquito, south of the Spanish Lagoon. 10-15 minute drive from Oranjestad. Free parking.

4. Go Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is perfect for romantic getaways, and even better in Aruba. On this horseback riding tour, you’ll get to ride horses through Arikok National Park, and stop by Conchi Natural Pool to swim.

You’ll have spectacular views of Aruba’s desert landscape, and get to visit places you wouldn’t be able to without a 4×4 vehicle.

5. Relax On Black Stone Beach

Black Stone Beach is the one and only black sand beach in Aruba, and it’s one of the most stunning natural attractions. It has shores lined with black volcanic rocks, natural bridges, and serene waters.

This is an incredible place to take photos, or stop by for a picnic to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. You can visit easily by car, or go on an ATV tour that stops by this hidden gem.

6. Visit the California Lighthouse

Just up the hill from Arashi beach, the California Lighthouse is the most popular landmark in Aruba. From the top, you’ll have priceless views of the island.

You can climb up the spiral staircase to watch the sunset, or have a private romantic dinner at the top. You’ll get to enjoy a 3 course meal with wine, while feeling the ocean breeze from the top of the lighthouse!

7. Enjoy Coffee and Charcuterie At Santos Coffee & Soul

Santos Coffee & Soul is a charming cafe that serves amazing coffee, breakfast foods, and charcuterie boards. This cafe has a soup of the day, happy hour from 5 to 7pm, and a peaceful ambience perfect for special occasions.

Just minutes from Eagle Beach, this is a great spot to stop by for breakfast before the beach.

8. Snorkel around the Antilla Shipwreck

One of the most unique attractions in Aruba is the Antilla shipwreck, the remnants of a ship from 1939! You can visit this fascinating shipwreck on a boat tour, and go snorkeling around it.

The shipwreck is now surrounded by bright corals, tropical fish, and beautiful marine life. The most popular snorkeling trip is the Arusun catamaran.

On this spacious catamaran, you’ll get to stop to snorkel at many sites, and enjoy unlimited drinks from the open bar. They provide snacks, drinks, and snorkeling gear.

9. Go Glass Bottom Kayaking Through Mangrove Forests

Mangel Halto Beach is not only Aruba’s most serene beach, but it’s surrounded by spectacular mangrove forests.

You can go kayaking to explore the mangroves and spot marine life on a glass bottom kayak tour.

On this tour, you’ll get to enjoy tropical fruit and peacefully kayak to mangrove trees near Mangel Halto. The kayaks hold two people, so it’s perfect for couples.

Aruba has everything from spa resorts to massage centers, and yoga studios. Spa del Sol is a beautiful oceanfront spa with bungalows that has a relaxing atmosphere.

It’s part of Manchebo Beach Resort, but they allow non-guests to use their spa as long as you book in advance. The Amanpuri Spa is another great option, that’s just steps away from Eagle Beach.

11. Go On An Off-Roading Jeep Tour

For special occasions, going on a jeep tour is one of the best ways to see all of Aruba’s top natural attractions.

On this jeep tour, you’ll get to visit Conchi natural pool, Baby Beach, natural bridges, the California Lighthouse, and Bushiribana Gold Ruins all in one day.

With most of Arikok National Park being only accessible with a 4×4 vehicle, this is a great way to fully explore the park. The tour provides a barbecue lunch, and covers park entry fees.

Located right on Palm Beach, Passions On The Beach is the place to go for a romantic sunset dinner. This restaurant has outdoor seating areas directly over the sand, with priceless views of the ocean.

From grouper to lobster, they serve some of the best seafood on the island. If you visit at night, they have live music and tiki torches for the perfect date night atmosphere.

If you’re an adventurous couple, go parasailing over Palm Beach to scratch it off your bucket list. You’ll get unbeatable views of the island, and you can take videos to capture the experience.

The parasail can hold 2 to 3 people side by side, so it’s the perfect thrilling activity for couples.

14. Explore The Desert On An ATV/UTV Tour

If you want to fully explore Aruba, going on an ATV tour is a must. On this ATV tour, you’ll get to visit Blackstone Beach, Conchi Natural Pool, Bushiribana Ruins, California Lighthouse, and many other landmarks within a day.

You’ll also stop by cave pools and beaches to go cliff jumping, swimming and snorkeling. This tour provides transportation from your hotel, and lasts around 4 hours.

15. Visit the Alto Vista Chapel

Sitting on top of the hills, the Alto Vista Chapel is a beautiful small Catholic chapel right by the sea. It’s in a remote area, and has a calm, tranquil atmosphere making it the perfect place to relax.

You can tour inside of the chapel, and hike the surrounding areas for breathtaking views of the ocean. For the best weather, you’ll want to visit early morning or late in the afternoon. 

Free parking and free admission. Open from 7am to 6pm daily.

16. Visit Philip’s Animal Garden

Just minutes from the Alto Vista Chapel, Philip’s Animal Garden is a charming animal sanctuary with over 50 species of animals. This sanctuary has everything from potbelly pigs to donkeys, and capuchin monkeys.

For $10, you can get a bag of carrots to feed the four-legged friends within the park. This is a nice place to stop by for an hour to spend time outside of the beach. If you love animals, Aruba also has an ostrich farm, and donkey sanctuary that allow visitors.

17. Climb Mt. Hooiberg During Sunrise

Located in the heart of Aruba, Mt. Hooiberg (Haystack Mountain) is a 540 feet mountain, with the most beautiful views of Aruba’s landscape.

The hike takes over 600 steps, but you’ll be rewarded with a priceless panoramic view of the island at the top. For the best views, you’ll want to visit early in the morning to catch the sunrise.

18. Visit De Palm Island

Located just 5 miles off the coast, De Palm Island is a small island that you can visit on a tour or excursion. This beautiful island has flamingos, snorkeling, a waterpark, and more.

On this De Palm Island excursion, you’ll get to enjoy all-inclusive food, drinks, and water sports equipment.

You can also get a private cabana on a beach surrounded by flamingos so it’s the perfect couples retreat.

19. Get Ice Cream From Gelatissmo Bus

After your romantic dinner, stop by Gelatissimo Bus in Palm Beach for dessert. This unique ice cream shop is made out of a retro bus, and they serve amazing Italian gelato.

They have indoor seating within the bus, and outdoor seating that becomes lively at night. From ferrero rocher to pistachio gelato, you definitely won’t want to miss trying this spot at least once.

The Butterfly Farm is a spectacular butterfly garden with hundreds of tropical butterflies. 

You can spend time strolling around the gardens for a few hours, and stop by the Nectar cafe for a fresh lemonade. With tons of beautiful plants and a relaxing atmosphere, this is a great place to visit for couples.
